Power Supplies
The power supply is the component which supplies power to the whole computer. Most PCs can be plugged into standard electrical outlets. The power supply pulls out the power form the mains and coverts the AC current to a DC current. It also separates the voltage for every component of the computer, this eliminates a chance of spikes and surges which were common in most electrical systems.
However not all power supplies do a good job at the “voltage-regulation” so some computers may have some large voltage fluctuations. Power supplies are rated in terms of the number of watts they generate, the more powerful, the more watts in can provide to components, as well as the more components you can have in your PC.
